Hello. My name is Stefanie and welcome to my blog. I am currently on the First National Tour of the Broadway musical
Wicked. My Wicked journey began in January of 2009 when I joined the First National tour as the Glinda understudy. A few months later, they added the Nessarose cover to my track. A year and a half, and eighteen cities later, I decided it was time to leave the tour. In June of 2010, I left the tour and returned to New York City to see what else might be out there for me. I found my first very own New York apartment (brick walls and everything) and furnished it to the tee. I returned to "real" life - I no longer had to be in a long distance relationship with my wonderful boyfriend, I could just call him and say "hey, want to come over?", I could sleep in my own bed, I could have an actual weekend (Saturday and Sunday, WHAT??), and have a drink before 8 o clock. I started to audition again, and take classes. Life was good, and I felt that it was the perfect time to get what I had always had wanted... a dog. I found a breeder in Long island, and made the trip out there to pick out a puppy. That is when I met (who would soon be) Zoey. She has won my heart and although she has had her "puppy" accidents, I have never had any regrets. Soon after, my boyfriend got word that he was cast as Tony in the West Side Story national tour and would be leaving in two months. About a month later, I received a call from my agents about an upcoming Nessarose replacement needed back on the Wicked national tour. I had an audition with Joe Mantello and creative team, and about an hour later, got the call saying 'I booked the job". I was needed in Boston, MA. by the end of September to rejoin the tour. So, I found a wonderful sublet, packed up my apartment, and re-packed my trunk (Zoey's stuff taking up half of it). I was headed back out on the road, only now with my furry companion.
So that brings us to now. Since I suddenly have some more time on my hands, I made up a list of things I want to accomplish on my second round of tour.
1. Must go to the gym more
2. Read more books
3. Take up a new hobby - I have decided Photography
4. Dog Training - I want Zoey to become a dog in The Good Dog Foundation
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST...
5. Start a blog that has fun tid-bits about life on the road. I want to give people suggestions on living, food, shopping, and tourist attractions to do while in a certain city.
OK, so there you have it. Zoey and my adventure starts now. First city, Boston, MA. coming soon!
Great idea, Stefanie! I saw the first tour back in August in Columbus and loved the cast and have heard all wonderful things about your Nessa and also Glinda. :) Your pup is adorably cute, by the way. Is she a Jack Russell Terrier? Have fun on the road, and welcome back to Wicked. :)
